About Chiesi

A clear vision of the future

Our aim is to become a world leader in respiratory medicine, building on our reputation for providing the NHS with quality modified release preparations.

Being privately owned frees us to allocate our research and development investment in response to unmet patient need - and with promising research being carried out in a number of familiar as well as specialist therapeutic areas, our pipeline is well aligned with the treatment priorities of the NHS.

Chiesi's UK operations are focussed on driving our success by meeting the needs of health professionals and helping them to improve outcomes for patients. Our highly trained and dynamic sales teams are fully equipped to provide a valued service to our customers

Innovating with integrity

We bring this same entrepreneurial spirit of innovation to creating value for our customers, and have structured our operations so as to respond as fully and imaginatively as possible to their requirements.

As with every company in the Chiesi Group, we embrace a shared set of values and a common code of ethical conduct. This demands the highest standards of reliability, transparency and individual accountability in everything we do, and emphasises the importance of collaborative working, putting people first and exchanging knowledge; implicit in all of these is a responsible attitude to the social and environmental impact of our actions.

A distinguished history

Previously known as Trinity Pharmaceuticals, Chiesi Ltd is proud of its heritage. Established in 1995, the Huddersfield based Trinity Pharmaceuticals specialised in cardiology, musculoskeletal and respiratory medicines. A modest sized company with real ambition, Trinity’s core objective was to satisfy patient need whilst meeting those of the NHS. In 1999, Trinity was acquired by the Italian research based company Chiesi SPA. With similar values and a likeminded approach to business, Trinity and Chiesi became a perfect partnership.

Since it was founded in Italy three generations ago, Chiesi has accumulated over 75 years experience of innovating in healthcare. Thanks to a combination of vigorous organic growth and astute acquisitions, what began as a small family company has grown into a global group employing over 3,700 people.

Today, as a truly global organisation, Chiesi has a presence on five continents, and our medicines and technologies are available in more than 60 countries.
